Fish og Twins

Fisken :-)
Ideal Conditions:
Small to Medium surf. Mushy, weak waves on which you still want to have fun on!

Styrker:

Fun:
As told by Mark Richards: You can call me an ego-maniac but it is a fact. With surfing (as in all history) time goes on and the story gets rewritten, and elements of it can be forgotten. Many people will not know, or have forgotten how important these twin-fins were in the development of surfboard design and performance surfing. My re-invention of the twin-fin in 1977 changed surfing history and our perception of what high-performance surfing meant. It was a revolutionary design that virtually ‘killed’ the single-fin as the surfboard of choice in small surf.
Shaun Tomson referred to my surfing on these boards as the “age of acceleration”…implying that the Twin fin allowed me to transition from maneuver to maneuver in a much faster way than had ever been possible on a single-fin. It is a shame that there was no better record of the surfing at the time…only a few waves in the "Free Ride" movie filmed at Off The Wall, and the occasional photo in the US surfing magazines, remain to show how ground-breaking the surfing was in Hawaii in the Winter of '77-78.
No one knows (until now) that there were actually two ”Free Ride” twin- fins…one 6’4″ by 21″ by 2 7/8″, which was the board I predominantly rode. And the other (back-up board) was 6’6″ by 20 1/4″ by 2 7/8″. The 2nd board, being narrower, was designed for bigger surf, but the 6’4″ went so well I rode it in almost all conditions.
